One Outfit Finished, Another Started

 As you saw last week, I’m in the middle of sewing costumes for our church Christmas play.

Well, I finished one. It wasn’t as easy as I first imagined it would be. The other problem, it doesn’t look as 1940’s as the pattern portrayed either. But I’m still happy with it. Sorry I couldn’t get a better picture of it. I’ll make sure I post a picture of the actress in it in a few weeks.

Now I’ve started the next outfit.

I’ve done this type of pattern before so I don’t foresee any problems. That’s a relief after the week I’ve had. I just have to put a little twist on it to make it a bit more vintage.

It was nice to get the material on sale. Because of a large container of zippers I got at a yard sale a few years back for next to nothing, the zipper cost pennies. So the total cost on the costume is around 10.00. You can’t beat that.

 

There are five more pieces to make once this one is done. I hope to have everything sewn by the first week of December. That’ll take a few prayers to make it happen though. Are you on a tight schedule right now for any holiday projects?
